Hasan Selcuk, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, University of Latvia. Before joining the University of Latvia, Dr. Selcuk was awarded a junior postdoctoral fellowship, subsequently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. He earned his PhD in Education and Professional Studies from King’s College London in 2017, with a doctoral thesis exploring the implementation of web-based collaborative writing among learners of English as a Foreign Language. Dr. Selcuk’s current research interests include web-based foreign language writing, the integration of computational thinking concepts into foreign language learning and teaching, and technology-enhanced language education.

His professional and scientific focus is on the theory of teaching computer science, virtual reality and UX design. Within the didactics of computer science he focuses on STEAM education, educational robotic kits and the use of artificial intelligence in education. He has authored and co-authored over 83 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings at home and abroad. 40 of these outputs are registered in WoS or Scopus databases, and he is co-author of one high school textbook and one university textbook. He is also the chair of the organizing committee for the Slovak part and a member of the program committee of the international Didinfo conference on didactics of computer science and a member of the editorial board of The Elementary Mathematics Education Journal. As a co-investigator, he participated in 1 VEGA project, national project IT Academy and 7 KEGA projects, of which in 3 KEGA projects as a project leader and in 2 projects as a responsible investigator for the UMB workplace. In 2024 he was awarded a foreign project AI-Empowered Teaching: Unlocking the Future of Digital Education for Teachers within the Erasmus+ call KA220-HED – Cooperation partnerships in higher education, where he participates as a responsible investigator for Slovakia in the project management.

Anat Cohen is an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University, specializing in digital learning, technology-enhanced education, and self-regulated learning. She is the Head of the Science and Technology Education Center (SATEC) and the Head of the Advanced Learning and Technology Research Lab (AL&T Lab). Anat has been involved in multiple EU-funded projects, including Horizon and ERASMUS+, focusing on AI in education, pedagogical digital competence, and open educational resources. Through her work at SATEC, the AL&T Lab, and her affiliation with the UNESCO Chair, she supports research and innovation that bridge technology, pedagogy, and lifelong learning.
